Picture Perfect Posing by Roberto Valenzuela (5/5)

In this month I read Picture Perfect Posing written by Roberto Valenzuela. I came across this book when I was looking through some book suggestions for photographers. For me the posing of people is one of the most difficult things in photography. Sometimes I look through the pictures I’ve taken and something just seems to be off. But I haven’t been able to identify where the problem was. That was already a clear sign for me that I needed to read more about this topic.

Valenzuela has developed a clear system on how to approach the posing. He goes through his system starting from the good posture, working down to the position of the hands, fingers, legs and so on. Text is illustrated with clear photos which makes it some much easier to see where the problem was. The tips Valenzuela provides are easy to take in and I could say that my portraits have improved a lot after reading this book. Now my approach to posing is much more organized and I can if there is a problem for an example in the posture. But what’s even more important now I can also fix the problem. Highly recommended for all those who want to take better portraits!
